My father is German. My Grandparents name was Theodore Heinrich Coers and my grandmother was Inge Coers. Let me know if that translates. Father is Horst Coers, and his brother is Reinhard Coers
My family orgianlly settled around Emden, Illinois. I believe one of my grandparent’s was born in Germany and the other came over from Germany when they were very young. My grandfater’s name was Ralph Coers. I never met him as he died around 1932. My father died at the age of 84 in 2003. I was born in 1957. I have more information on our family if someone is interested. We had 2 or 3 generations of all boys and no girls. The situation has changed with this generation. Now are are having mostly girls.
Hi Mike, got some Infomations bout our Family Roots.
I found someone from the Nederlands who seems to be related to us and his Family came from France as Hugenotten in the early 1800s.
I also found out that there are two Coers Familys who are not related.
By the Way our Grandpas Name was Theodor Josef 😉
Greets from Germany.
Michèle

I believe my Coers heritage is of French and German descent. Although, my father’s name is Carl Richard Coers. I wish I could find more on my name.
Kitty,
Do you live in the states?
Mike

I looked it up and I know of a few Coers’ in Illinois. I know there is a Michael Coers that is a band director.
My father came to the US in 1976, so I doubt there is any relation.
Lynn – do you have info that goes to the Netherlands?
My family lived in Bottrop Germany in the early 1900s til 1970.
Thanks.
Mike
